Job summary

North Gibson School Corporation is seeking a reliable custodian/maintenance staff member to maintain facilities and support the educational environment. The role includes cleaning, security checks, and daily upkeep across classrooms, offices, libraries, and common areas.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and experience in custodial work; a CDL with P&S endorsements is preferred. The position may require lifting and weekend availability and will report to the Maintenance Department.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience with custodial/maintenance duties strongly desired.
• Valid state issued Class B CDL with P&S endorsements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises neat/clean at all times.
• Keep building secure at all times ensuring doors are locked accordingly.
• Sweep, dry mop, wet mop, or vacuum all spaces in daily use.
• Remove stains from carpet daily in assigned area.
• Dust furniture, window sills and surfaces as needed.
• Clean desktops, boards, trash, and restore supply areas.
• Inspect and refill dispensers (soap, towels, toilet paper).
• Move furniture or equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Report major repairs promptly to the head custodian.
• Comply with laws for storage and disposal of trash and waste.
