Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and follow cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cleaning schedule including floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
• Keep school building and grounds neat and clean, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas.
• Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.
• Assist with lunchroom setup by arranging tables and chairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs; report major repairs to the principal.
• Regulate HVAC to maintain appropriate temperatures and economical energy use.
• Move furniture or equipment within the building as directed by the principal.
• Set up facilities for special events.
