Job summary

GWISD is seeking a Substitute Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and on grounds under supervision. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, setting up rooms, delivering supplies, and assisting during events.

Must follow safety rules, read/write English fluently, and coordinate with staff. Driver's license or reliable transportation is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in building/cleaning maintenance desirable.
• State driver's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure buildings at start/end of shift to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and other areas per district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors; clean carpets and blinds.
• Wash walls, ceilings, windows, doors, and sills; remove graffiti.
• Set up/break down furniture for meetings and events; assist in loading supplies.
• Deliver supplies to classrooms and assist with recycling programs.
