Job summary

Cobb County School District is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across assigned school facilities. The role follows the established schedule and may require routine physical tasks, including lighting maintenance as needed.

This position is classified hourly, bi-weekly pay, and reports to the Principal or Head Custodian. Candidates should have basic communication skills and the ability to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 75 pounds.

• Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities; medium to heavy physical demands; occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 75 pounds

• The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Cleans specified areas of building as outlined by Principal or Head Custodian of the school.
• Cares for school grounds as directed.
• Changes light bulbs in ceilings up to 10 feet in height.
• Cleans entire building regardless of ceiling heights, including dining areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate designee.
