Job summary

Nassau County School District in Florida seeks an Accountant in the Career & Technical Education division for a twelve-month, seven-hours-per-day position to support financial record-keeping, data entry, and reporting across multiple accounts. Salary ranges from $37,401 to $41,678; the position includes a millage-based annual supplement of $8,954 prorated for 2026-27.

A High School diploma or GED is required, with at least three years of bookkeeping experience; an Associate or Bachelor's degree

Qualifications

• High School or GED Diploma.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in bookkeeping.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting for the area of responsibility, including data entry and data analysis.
• Verify the accuracy of and process documents necessary to the completion of the process in the particular area of responsibility.
• Reconcile accounts for area of responsibility. Prepare journal entries as necessary.
• Reconcile or assist with the reconciliation of bank statements as appropriate for the area of responsibility.
• Ensure that sufficient documentation is available for auditing of the financial records in the particular area of responsibility.
• Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
• Maintain accounting controls and recommend policies and procedures to ensure internal controls are in place for the particular areas of responsibility.
• Prepare financial reports as necessary for the area of responsibility by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Contribute to the team effort of accomplishing the overall task of the department.
• Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

Education
