Job summary

George West Independent School District seeks a Substitute Custodian to perform cleaning and light maintenance in school facilities under the supervision of the Principal, Director of Facilities, and Business Manager. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment for students and staff.

Your duties include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas; securing buildings; assisting with deliveries and events; and performing basic repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or desirable.
• Previous experience in building cleaning/maintenance is desirable.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Checks and secures building at start and end of shift.
• Cleans rooms, halls, restrooms, and offices to district standards.
• Cleans floors, washes walls, and maintains windows and fixtures.
• Removes trash, assists in recycling, and delivers supplies.
• Clears snow, spreads ice-melting chemicals, and maintains grounds.
• Performs tasks during vacations and assists with events.
