Job summary

Madison County Schools is seeking a Custodian at Madison Middle School in Marshall, NC. The position is full-time for 12 months with an hourly salary of $15.00, plus full-time benefits including annual/sick leave, health insurance, and NC state retirement.

Responsibilities include cleaning facilities and grounds, operating cleaning equipment, reporting damages, and supporting a healthy school environment for students.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent
• Demonstrate aptitude for the work to be performed
• Ability to work effectively with other people
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
• Experience preferred
• Perform tasks in cleaning of school facilities and school grounds including scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing and polishing floors

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks in cleaning of school facilities and school grounds including scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing and polishing floors in rooms, offices, hallways and closets
• Maintain school grounds and perform any tasks required for this maintenance
• Report to supervisor any damages or need for repairs
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal for maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the students
