SSC Services for Education, part of Compass Group USA, is hiring immediately for full time and part time JANITOR positions at Roanoke County Public Schools in Salem, VA. Location: 4555 Malus Drive, Salem, VA 24153. Online applications accepted.

Schedule varies, with training offered. Prior janitorial experience is preferred but not required. Job involves heavy cleaning duties, trash disposal, surface sanitizing and floor care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Keeps buildings clean and orderly and performs heavy cleaning duties including floors, rugs, walls, glass and rubbish removal.
• Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and damp mops floors; moves equipment and furniture for cleaning and returns them to place.
• Cleans assigned areas with approved materials and sanitizes surfaces; follows the eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture and baseboards to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Seeks out areas needing cleaning and completes tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Performs tasks in accordance with federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refinishes floors and shampoos carpet.
• Contributes to the team with professionalism toward customers, fellow employees and others.
