Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cleaning schedule including floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
• Keep school building and grounds neat and clean, including sidewalks and parking areas.
• Comply with local laws and procedures for trash storage and disposal.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and request additional supplies as needed.
• Assist with lunchroom setup and basic repairs; report major repairs to the principal.
• Regulate HVAC systems to maintain appropriate temperatures and energy use.
• Move furniture or equipment as directed and assist in setting up facilities for events.
• Follow safety procedures, inspect equipment, and report unsafe conditions.
