Job summary

ABM is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas of a K-12 or higher education campus environment. The role supports safe, clean, and welcoming facilities.

The position offers a daytime shift from 7am to 4pm, pay of $17.50 per hour, and ABM's comprehensive benefits package. No high school diploma required; on-the-job training provided, 18+ needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience (preferred).
• One year of prior similar work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms and restrooms.
• Sweep, mop floors, and remove debris in designated areas.
• Check trash receptacles and empty as needed.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and equipment to protect floors.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Sort and recycle waste into proper receptacles.
• Dust desks, chairs, tables, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, and walls.
• Polish hard surfaces such as wood and stainless steel.
• Wipe tabletops and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets and equipment to clean areas using hand trucks.
• Clean interior glass, windows, and mirrors with appropriate cleaners.
• Sweep, rake leaves, and perform seasonal tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and ensure safety standards.
