Job summary

Citizens of the World Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated part-time School Custodian to maintain a clean, safe environment across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and external areas. The role supports the School Operations Team and reports to the School Operations Manager.

Duties include cleaning, basic maintenance, and event setup. Ideal candidates will have custodial experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred.
• Attention to detail and thorough cleaning standards.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Good communication with staff and vendors.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand long hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and other areas of the school.
• Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal and cleanliness of grounds.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
• Strip, wax, and polish floors and operate floor scrubbing equipment.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs and unclogging drains.
• Monitor premises for safety hazards and address spills or debris promptly.
• Track cleaning supplies and report needs to the Operations Manager.
• Provide cleaning/setup support during events or activities.
• Adhere to school policies, safety procedures, and guidelines.
• Deliver supplies to appropriate areas.
