Job summary

Maize USD 266 is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe school environment. The role involves opening and closing the building, cleaning bathrooms and floors, moving furniture, and assisting with special projects during breaks. The position requires physical work, a high school diploma, and reliable attendance.

You will work 40 hours per week, with shifts such as 6:30am-3:00pm or 7:30am-3:30pm, and must pass a background check and TB test. The district provides competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Has a high school diploma.
• Must fulfill physical job duties including 90% walking and 10% standing.
• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctuality.
• Must be regularly available and willing to work 40 hours per week.
• Must have a cleared background check and current TB skin test.

Responsibilities

• Open the building and assist with daily opening tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of the building including bathrooms and floors.
• Repair building and equipment as assigned to ensure operability.
• Set up and move equipment for daily activities and events.
• Provide crossing guard duties for student safety.
• Receive deliveries and organize supplies and furniture.
• Close the building and minimize utility costs.
• Assist with special projects during breaks and after hours.
