Job summary

Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 seeks an hourly monitor to ensure student safety at designated crosswalks. You will assist with crossing intersections, interact with students and staff, and help enforce school-zone rules to protect children during commute times.

Position is hourly and NOT eligible for leave or benefits; required to lift up to 50 pounds and follow directions from site staff, with strong references for reliability and punctuality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• First Aid/CPR training preferred or required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds as needed.
• Willingness to take directions and work with students.
• Strong references emphasizing attendance and punctuality.
• Pass a safety-focused evaluation and background check.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with employees, students and community members.
• Assist children in crossing intersections on their way to and from school.
• Enforce state laws regarding school zones and pedestrian traffic.
• Protect safety of children at all times while on duty.
• Report student safety or driver safety infractions to administration.
• Place signs and report maintenance needs when required.
• Maintain district-supplied equipment and operate job-related gear.
• Use district technology to communicate and perform tasks.
• Assist with parking lot, bus lane or other duties as assigned.
