Job summary

GADSDEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT #32 is seeking a Crossing Guard to support students during arrival and dismissal. The role involves directing traffic, assisting students and families, and promoting safety in the school vicinity.

Requirements include a High school diploma or equivalent and an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Salary is $16.00 per hour for an 180-day position.

Reports to the Transportation Director and works at assigned locations to ensure a safe walking path for students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist traffic to ensure the safety of students and pedestrians.
• Assist students, parents, staff and visitors for safe access to and from the location.
• Communicate safety policies and enforcement procedures to students, staff and visitors.
• Maintain job-related equipment (stop sign, vests, street signs).
• Monitor student behavior entering/exiting school grounds to ensure safety.
• Report incidents for follow-up under safety guidelines.
• Respond to various situations (altercations, accidents, vandalism, etc.).
