Job summary

Solon City Schools is seeking a School Crossing Guard to assist students and pedestrians at non-signalized crossings near the school. You will monitor traffic, use hand signals, and coordinate with staff to ensure safe crossings during peak hours.

The role requires standing for extended periods, reliable attendance, and completion of required training programs. Health insurance eligibility is noted, and the position remains part-time with morning and/or afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist students and pedestrians in crossing busy intersections and streets near the school.
• Ensure the orderly and secure movement of children and adults, helping them navigate traffic safely.
• Monitor and control traffic flow during peak hours, working with local law enforcement if necessary.
• Report any equipment issues promptly for repair or replacement.
