Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Certification or eligible for certification by the Florida State Department of Education to teach in the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal and social growth counseling including individual and group counseling for academic success and personal development.
• Provides crisis intervention services (e.g., suicide prevention, health concerns, substance abuse).
• Conducts conferences with parents to engage them in improving student performance while following district guidelines.
• Maintains student guidance records and confidentiality.
• Provides career counseling and guidance for higher education and scholarships.
• Identifies students at risk and develops intervention plans with teachers and administrators.
