Job summary

Learn It Academic Services in New York City is seeking a School Counselor to support students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being within a collaborative school team.

You will use counseling expertise to help students navigate challenges, plan for the future, and thrive at school, while partnering with educators and families to implement evidence-based approaches.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in school counseling required.
• Experience in school counseling preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling addressing academic, career, and personal/social development.
• Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for emotional or behavioral challenges.
• Advocate for students during IEP meetings and other student-focused discussions.
• Maintain accurate records and connect families with outside resources.

What You Have

• Master’s degree in school counseling from an accredited program
• School experience preferred
• Additional teaching certification or state education credential may be required
• Ability to pass a background check
