Onward Education is partnering with a Dakota County, Minnesota school district to hire a dedicated School Counselor for a short-term, full-time assignment from August 2026 through November 2026. The role focuses on implementing a comprehensive counseling program to support academic, career, and social-emotional development for high school students.

You will provide individual and group counseling, assist with graduation planning and college readiness, and deliver SEL lessons while collaborating

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in School Counseling or related field.
  • Valid Minnesota School Counselor license.
  • Experience working with secondary or high school students.
  • Knowledge of college and career readiness planning, student support services, and social-emotional learning practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive and student-centered environment.

Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, the School Counselor will help create an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment while implementing a comprehensive school counseling program designed to support the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students.


Position Details:


  • Position: High School Counselor

  • Location: Onsite in Dakota County, MN

  • Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

  • Assignment Type: Short-Term Assignment

  • Assignment Dates: August 2026 - November 2026

  • Grade Levels: High School
