Job summary

Flex High School - Columbus is seeking a part-time School Counselor to support students across multiple regional sites, including Franklinton, Reynoldsburg, and Ross Center locations. The role may involve travel between sites and is funded through the IDEA Grant.

The counselor will work under the ASCA framework to support academic, personal/social, and career development, provide individual and group counseling, and collaborate with teachers to remove barriers to graduation.

Qualifications

  • MA/MS degree in School Counseling or related field.
  • Valid Ohio Pupil Services License in School Counseling.
  • Experience with individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Experience with at-risk student populations.
  • Experience with crisis counseling and prevention.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Following the ASCA National Model, address the needs of all students by facilitating academic, personal/social, and career development.
  • Counseling support delivered through Guidance Curriculum, Individual Planning, Responsive Services, Referral, Consultation, and Collaboration.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to provide strategies, support, and resources for student success.

FLEX HIGH SCHOOL OHIO

Part-Time, Monday – Friday, 20 hours per week

This position provides support to various school sites within the region, including Franklinton, Reynoldsburg, Ross Center Locations. The role may require travel between locations to meet site‑specific needs.

This position is funded through the IDEA Grant

Compensation: Competitive compensation package starting from $30.83 per hour

How You Will Make an Impact

Following the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, the School Counselor will address the needs of all students by facilitating their academic, personal/social, and career development as well as helping create a positive and safe learning experience. At the same time, the School Counselor will assist students as they face issues and resolve problems that prevent their healthy development. Counseling support is delivered through the following components: Guidance Curriculum, Individual Planning, Responsive Services, Referral, Consultation, and Collaboration.

The School Counselor's primary role is to support students with any barriers hindering their progress as they work towards completing their high school diploma. This Position will collaborate and consult with teachers and other school personnel in providing them with strategies, support, and resources that will contribute to the student's success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • MA/MS degree in School Counseling or field
  • Valid Ohio Pupil Services License in School Counseling
  • Experience with individual and group counseling sessions
  • Experience working with at‑risk student populations
  • Experience with prevention, intervention, developmental, and crisis counseling
  • College, community, and social/youth agency partnerships
  • Use of data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience using student information databases or software applications
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • TRAVEL: Ability to travel in performance of job duties.
