Job summary

Whitsons is hiring a School Food Service Worker for the Rhode Island program. This role supports healthy meals for students, serving meals and upholding safety standards in a school kitchen in Providence, RI.

The position offers a 6:30am-1:30pm schedule, Monday through Friday, with weekends and evenings off. Training is provided; no prior experience is required beyond a positive attitude and team spirit.

Qualifications

• Must complete all Whitsons and government-mandated training as required.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional food service preferred but not required.
• Certifications: ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
• English: Ability to speak/read English to understand recipes and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Prep, portion, and serve meals to students and staff.
• Set up and clean serving stations and kitchen areas.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Create a positive, welcoming mealtime experience.
• Work as part of a fun, energetic team.
