Job summary

Cottage Grove High School is hiring a Food Service Assistant to support the district’s food service operations. This role requires assisting in any school kitchen area, stocking service lines and helping with meal preparation.

four hours per day, 183 days per year, with the possibility of working at multiple schools within the district. Prior food service experience and the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a commercial food service facility preferred.
• Ability to obtain Food Handler’s Card within two weeks of employment.
• Strong customer service and effective communication with students.

Responsibilities

• Stock trays, lines, condiments and serve hot/cold foods as needed.
• Clean food service areas, wash dishes and mop floors; collect and remove trash.
• Assist cooks with meal prep, salads, sandwiches, fruits and vegetables.
• Lift up to 50 pounds; stand for extended periods; maintain hygiene and safety.
