Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Part-time Food Service Helper in Potomac, MD. You will assist in the production and serving of school meals and help maintain clean kitchen facilities and equipment.

Under supervision, you will receive on-the-job training in basic food production and cafeteria operations. Physical requirements include lifting 40–60 pounds, standing for long periods, and exposure to varying temperatures in a school kitchen.

Qualifications

• Completion of the ninth grade required.
• High School or GED diploma preferred.
• Experience with food preparation techniques and safety procedures.
• Certificate License: Valid Class C noncommercial driver's license.
• Sanitation certification required or obtain this certification during the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in routine production and serving of food.
• Clean kitchen facilities and equipment.
• Receive on‑the‑job training in basic food production and cafeteria operations.
• Follow HACCP guidelines for safe food handling from receiving to service.
• Meet SSPGS core competencies in daily duties.
