Job summary

CENTENNIAL SD 28J is seeking a Dining Services Technician at Patrick Lynch Elementary School in Portland. This entry-level role supports basic food preparation, serving, setup and cleanup in the school cafeteria, with hours from 6:30am to 1:45pm during the 190-day school year.

Starting immediately, the position requires a High School diploma, a Food Handler Permit, and a Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance. You may serve as cashier and assist with stock, inventory and daily cleanup.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation, serving and basic kitchen activities.
• Knowledge of basic math and sanitation principles for food prep and serving.
• Ability to perform cleaning functions and operate cafeteria equipment.
• Education requirement: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance is required.
• Food Handler Permit is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwasher; clean surfaces and equipment.
• Prepare condiments, fruits, salads and cold sandwiches.
• Serve meals to students and handle cash/meal tickets, and record counts.
• Restock and inventory food items; manage leftovers.
• Monitor vending machines and collect monies as applicable.
