Job summary

Chicopee Public Schools is seeking a Cafeteria Helper for Litwin Elementary School in Chicopee, MA. This full-time, 6-hour position involves daily food preparation, sanitation, cleaning, and serving under the Cook Manager and Food Service Director.

Essential duties include food prep, safe operation of kitchen equipment, and maintaining a clean, sanitary cafeteria. Must have HS diploma or GED and prior food service experience; ServSafe preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Proficient in reading, writing and math - Required.
• Previous food service experience - Required.
• Ability to move, bend, stand and lift for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of food in a sanitary manner for students and staff.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary cafeteria environment.
• Clean, mop, scrub, wash, and sanitize.
• Operate a POS/Cash Register and handle money with records.
• Work under the supervision of the Asst./Cook Manager and Food Service Director.
