Job summary

The Kirtland Local School District is seeking a Substitute Aide (Bus, Recess, Lunch, Student) for part-time hours from 10 AM to 12 PM or as assigned. This role focuses on supervising students and maintaining order in the cafeteria and related areas.

Duties include enforcing school rules, assisting students, cleaning spills, and reporting any safety concerns to supervisors. A high school diploma is preferred, with a clear BCII background and prior experience with school-age children.

Qualifications

• Clear BCII background check required.
• Experience with school-age children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control students’ behavior to maintain a safe and healthy environment during meals and activities.
• Communicate school rules, enforce discipline, and report issues to the appropriate authority.
• Offer help to students when needed, without being intrusive.
• Clean up spills immediately to prevent slips and falls.
• During an emergency, stay with the injured student and send for help.
• Report unsafe conditions to the supervisor, principal, or transportation director.
• Wash tables, pick up trash, mop or sweep floors, and assist with kitchen/cafeteria duties.
• Attend mandatory meetings and trainings; participate in professional growth when requested.
• Serve as a role model, demonstrating responsibility, citizenship, respect, and courtesy.
• Perform other duties as directed.
