Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools in Silver Spring is hiring a part-time Cafeteria Worker at JoAnn Leleck Elementary School. The 4-hours-per-day, 10-month position runs 10am–2pm with a day shift. You will assist with cooking, food preparation, meal service, and operate a cash register.

Applicants should have basic food handling knowledge, be able to lift 40–60 pounds, and work well under deadlines. Training will be provided on the job.

Qualifications

• Completion of the ninth grade required.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with food preparation techniques and safety procedures.
• Certificate license: Valid Class C noncommercial driver’s license.
• Sanitation certification required or to be obtained within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cooking, food preparation and meal service.
• Operate a cash register and process payments.
• Perform physical kitchen duties, including lifting and cleaning.
