The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District seeks an experienced School Business Administrator/Purchasing Agent to lead financial operations, purchasing, budget development, and regulatory compliance.

The role reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Business, overseeing budget administration, accounts payable/receivable, and employee benefits, while collaborating with district leaders and external partners.

Competenze

  • New York State School District Business Leader (SDBL) Certification or eligibility.
  • Knowledge of school finance, budgeting, purchasing, public bidding, payroll and accounting practices.
  • Experience in public school business administration preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, staff and community stakeholders.

Mansioni

  • Develop, administer, and present the District budget.
  • Monitor district expenditures and revenues.
  • Serve as the District Purchasing Agent and supervise purchasing activities.
  • Develop bid specifications, conduct bids, and prepare contracts/RFPs.
  • Provide annual training on purchasing procedures.
  • Supervise accounts payable/receivable, payroll operations, and fixed asset inventory.

The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and collaborative leader to serve as its School Business Administrator/Purchasing Agent.

This key position reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Business in overseeing the District's financial operations, purchasing activities, budget development, accounting functions, food services, facilities, transportation, employee benefits administration, and regulatory compliance.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in development, administration, and presentation of the District budget.
  • Assisting in monitoring and overseeing district expenditures and revenues.
  • Serving as the District Purchasing Agent and supervising all purchasing activities.
  • Developing bid specifications, conducting bids, and preparing contracts and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Providing annual training on purchasing procedures and protocols.
  • Assisting in supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll operations, and fixed asset inventory controls.
  • Assisting with internal, external, and claims audits.
  • Supporting cash management, borrowing activities, investments, and financial reporting.
  • Assisting with administering employee benefit programs and maintaining accurate enrollment records.
  • Serving as the District Faculty Auditor for extra classroom (curricular) activities.
  • Preparing required financial reports for the Board of Education and State and Federal agencies.
  • Collaborating with district administrators, staff, and external organizations on business-related matters.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Business.
Qualifications:
  • New York State School District Business Leader (SDBL) Certification or eligibility required.
  • Knowledge of school finance, budgeting, purchasing, public bidding requirements, payroll, and accounting practices.
  • Experience with public school business administration preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with administrators, staff, and community stakeholders.
