About Le Roy Central School District

The Le Roy Central School District, located in Genesee County, approximately 40 miles east of Buffalo and 20 miles southeast of Rochester, is conducting a comprehensive search for our next School Business Administrator.

Position Summary and Professional Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, the School Business Administrator serves as the district's chief financial and operational officer, providing leadership and oversight of all financial and business operations to ensure the effective stewardship of district resources in support of student achievement.

The Business Administrator advises the Superintendent and Board of Education on all fiscal matters, including:

  • Long-range financial planning
  • Annual budget development and implementation
  • Financial forecasting
  • Capital planning
  • Reserve management
  • State and federal compliance
  • Strategic operational planning

In addition to overseeing all financial operations, the Business Administrator provides leadership for:

  • Transportation
  • Buildings and Grounds
  • Food Service
  • Tax Collection
  • Records Management
  • Insurance and Risk Management
  • Shared oversight of Facilities and Capital Projects
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

  • Extensive knowledge of school finance, accounting, payroll, purchasing, competitive bidding, auditing, internal controls, investments, debt management, and financial reporting.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with New York State Education Department regulations, state and federal grant requirements, audit standards, and applicable laws and Board policies.
  • Proven ability to oversee operational areas including transportation, food service, tax collection, insurance and risk management, records management, residency, and shared facilities management.
  • Experience supporting collective bargaining, contract administration, personnel operations, retirement systems, benefits administration, Civil Service requirements, and policy implementation.
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, accountability, emotional intelligence, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Qualifications and Salary Range

Candidates must possess an appropriate New York State certification as a School Business Administrator or School District Business Leader, or be eligible through New York State Civil Service as a School Business Manager.

A regionally competitive salary will be negotiated based upon experience and qualifications. An anticipated salary range of $110,000 - $130,000, including a comprehensive benefits package, will be set forth in an individual employment agreement.

The position requires occasional early-morning, evening, and weekend responsibilities, including attending all Board of Education meetings and committee meetings.
