Job summary

Special School District Saint Louis County in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a School Bus Technician to inspect, repair, and service district buses and vehicles. You will perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on engines, brakes, steering, and electrical systems, and complete required inspections.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM–6 PM at 5500 N. Hanley, with duties including documentation of work to meet district and state requirements. Equal opportunity employer; benefits available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State Vehicle Inspector certification required (within 6 months).
• General knowledge of diesel engines, brakes and transmissions required.
• Missouri State Inspector's License required (within 6 months).
• CDL with passenger endorsement preferred (within 6 months).
• School Bus ASE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and service SSD buses and vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance and complex diagnostics and repairs.
• Complete state inspections and respond to road service calls.
• Document work to meet district, state, and federal requirements.
