Job summary

Mesquite-Isd is seeking an Auxiliary - Transportation to ride buses and assist the driver in providing safe and orderly transportation for all students. You will support loading/unloading for students with disabilities and help maintain a disciplined, safe bus environment.

The role requires following instructions, good communication with staff, and readiness to report issues and complete routine records as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate verbal and written instructions and responses in English
• Must be 21 years of age

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading and unloading of students with disabilities according to their individual needs.
• Maintain discipline and report student discipline problems to the appropriate administrator.
• Maintain a good working relationship with the principals and through a cooperative effort maintain a disciplined decorum on the bus that is conducive to safety and protection of property.
• Make neat, legible, and accurate reports as required.
• Become familiar with route to and from school campus to be of assistance to driver.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
