Palestine Transportation/Maintenance in Palestine, Texas is seeking a Bus Monitor for on-site duties. The role involves assisting the driver with student discipline, loading/unloading, and maintaining seating arrangements to ensure safe transportation for students.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and being at least 20 years old; experience with children is recommended. This full-time position offers variable hours with an immediate start.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Previous experience working with children recommended.

Responsabilidades

• Work as a team with the bus driver to maintain discipline on the school bus and ensure students arrive to their destination safe, on-time, and ready to learn.
• Actively monitor students while bus is in operation to ensure student safety at all time.
• Consult with and assist the bus driver in documentation of student information and recordkeeping.
• Learn the assigned route and student names and be able to assist standby drivers when the regular driver is absent.
• Assist driver in assuring seat belts are fastened and worn and harnesses, wheelchair clamps are secured as required for special needs routes.
• Assist parents and school personnel with safe loading and unloading of students; coordinate seating of pre-kindergarten students and help maintain school bus seating charts.
• Assist the driver in keeping the school bus clean and orderly.
• Maintain current knowledge of school bus evacuation procedures.
• Assist special needs children on and off the bus and escort children across the street as needed; lift children as required.
• Attend in-service meetings and trainings as required.
• Maintain confidentiality in regards to students and student records.
