Job summary

Mason County School District seeks a School Bus Monitor to help ensure the safe transportation of students, staff, and others to and from school, neighborhood routes, and field trips. The role involves maintaining order, submitting records, and ensuring no child is unattended and all exits are accounted for after routes.

The position requires the ability to move through buses and classrooms, respond to emergencies per written procedures, and participate in ongoing trainings and safety drills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains order and discipline among students during transport in line with district policies.
• Maintains and submits required records and reports.
• Ensures no child is left unattended on the bus and all have exited after routes or trips.
• Keeps bus emergency and first aid supplies stocked and reports needs.
• Helps prepare for bus drills and ensures evacuation drills are conducted as required.
• In case of accidents, evacuates children per procedures and completes required reports.
