Job summary

• Ability to verbally communicate clearly with students, drivers, school officials, and parents.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Noise level can be moderately loud on bus routes.
• Attend work on a regular and dependable basis.
• Must successfully pass state/federal background checks.
• Ability to perform essential job functions as directed by company policies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pupils and daily school bus activities to ensure proper conduct and safety on the bus.
• Maintain attendance and ridership records and seating assignments as needed.
• Observe and learn bus routes to assist substitute drivers with direction and routing.
• Verify route turns and note changes with written notes when requested.
• Add directional/landmark notes on route sheets to help future drivers.
• Track route timing and loading/unloading times for efficiency.
• Ensure safe loading and unloading of students on/off the bus.
• Verify student use of seat belts and assist with belts as needed.
• Assist driver with bus interior cleaning and sweep as required.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, district personnel, students, and parents.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
