Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years experience driving a school bus.
• Valid California Commercial Driver’s License class B with passenger endorsement.
• Successful completion of the California Department of Education, Transportation Unit School Bus Driver Instructor Program.
• No moving violations or chargeable accidents within the three years prior to application.

Responsibilities

• Implement policies and procedures related to the operation of a full service school transportation department.
• Prepare routes and driver schedules for all school transportation services including home-to-school transportation, field trips, and athletic trips.
• Reassign scheduled service to meet daily needs and provide renewal training of staff.
• Create and present safety awareness training programs for transportation staff and maintain records/reports.
