Job summary

Henry County Public Schools Transportation in Martinsville, Virginia seeks a Substitute Bus Driver to transport students, perform pre-trip checks and ensure safety. Immediate supervision is by the Transportation Supervisor.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of operating a school bus.
• Ability to detect malfunctioning equipment.
• Ability to assist children with patience and understanding.

Responsibilities

• Drive school bus, pick up and deliver students to/from school.
• Perform pre-trip inspection and report deficiencies; wash and clean bus.
• Fuel bus as needed; obey traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maintain passenger safety and discipline; complete required reports.
• Record mileage and maintain various activity records.
