Job summary

Morongo Band of Mission Indians in California is seeking a School Bus Driver to transport students on assigned routes in compliance with CHP regulations.

The role requires a School Bus Certification and a valid California Class B license with passenger, airbrake, and School Bus endorsements. First Aid/CPR certification is preferred. This is a full-time, non-exempt position paid hourly.

Qualifications

• Must hold School Bus Certification.
• Must hold a valid California Class B Driver’s License with passenger, airbrake and School Bus endorsements.
• American Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Must be insurable on company vehicle insurance.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate school bus safely and efficiently while transporting students on assigned routes and locations in compliance with California Highway Patrol regulations.
• Conduct required daily safety inspections of buses; inspect interior, exterior and engine; report mechanical issues and maintain related records.
• Drive a school bus along designated routes; pick up and discharge students on schedule; observe traffic and student transportation laws and regulations.
• Transport students, faculty and parents on field trips or events; meet departure/arrival times and maintain related logs and reports.
• Prepare and maintain various reports and records related to transportation activities including inspections and time sheets.
