Qualified applicants will hold a Iowa CDL with School Bus and Passenger endorsements (or be willing to obtain with district support) and pass DOT physicals and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Valid Iowa Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements - or willingness to obtain with district support
• Clear driving record and background check
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
• Good communication skills and a calm, student-centered demeanor
• Dependable and punctual

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus along designated routes
• Pick up and drop off students at scheduled stops
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
• Maintain discipline and ensure safety rules are followed on the bus
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Follow all district policies and state regulations regarding school transportation
• Report any concerns or incidents to the Transportation Director
