Qualifications

• Experience in bus or commercial driving preferred; prior school bus or paratransit experience valued.
• Strong communication skills suitable for diverse audiences.
• Mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks and troubleshooting is advantageous.
• Experience working with children or in childcare demonstrates understanding of student needs.
• Multilingual abilities or background in education or senior care beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferred.
• Ability to complete reports and documentation related to transportation activities.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses and commercial vehicles safely, following traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Transport students to various locations, including schools, extracurricular activities, and events.
• Maintain order on the bus by enforcing behavior policies and managing student conduct.
• Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips for safety and cleanliness.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and dispatchers, utilizing multilingual skills if needed.
• Assist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needs.
• Keep accurate records of routes, attendance, and incidents.
• Follow all transportation regulations and safety standards.
