Job summary

Duplin County Schools in Beulaville, NC is seeking a part-time School Bus Driver to operate a bus on assigned routes and schedules, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensure student safety and discipline.

You must have a high school diploma and a valid NC CDL with school bus certification. Responsibilities include reporting incidents, maintaining records, and securing the bus at the end of each run, under supervision of the Zone Transportation Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and some experience driving large vehicles.
• Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with school bus certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and documents inspections as required by Transportation Department Operating Instructions for bus drivers.
• Operates the assigned school bus on the route(s) and schedule provided by the Zone Transportation Supervisor.
• Maintains discipline of students assigned to ride the school bus and follows the principal's disciplinary plan.
• Reports to the Zone Transportation Supervisor on any route changes due to principal instructions.
• Keeps the bus clean and secure, completes required reports and time cards, and secures the bus after each run.
