Job summary

School District 27J is seeking a bus driver to operate assigned routes for general and special education students. Duties include maintaining student safety, supervising loading/unloading, and following all rules.

CDL training is provided at no cost and benefits are available for full-time staff on a 9-month schedule. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and obtain a CDL with B2-S, DOT physical, and First Aid/CPR within required timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must hold CDL with B2-S endorsement after training.
• DOT physical exam completed within required timeline.
• First Aid and CPR certifications required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Operate bus/vehicle on routes with designated stops and times.
• Maintain student safety and discipline per district policy.
• Inspect vehicle and equipment before/after duties and report defects.
• Assist loading/unloading including wheelchairs and lifts.
• Communicate with school staff and parents as needed.
• Prepare records, logs, and reports in a timely manner.
