First Student, Inc. in Harvey, LA is seeking part-time school bus drivers to start mornings with pickups and transport students home after school and on field trips as needed. You’ll join a nationwide team known for safety and reliability, with flexible AM/PM routes and no nightly or summer shifts.

• Experience driving or working with the public is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding/unloading and assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus and ensure student safety.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report mechanical issues promptly.
• Keep the bus clean and sanitary; obey traffic laws and safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or behavior."
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service when working with students and families.

As a Part Time School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. Additional hours for field trips and special event transportation may be available.

Your day as a School Bus Driver will include:

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.

• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.

• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).

• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.

• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.

• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
