Reporting to the Director of Transportation, the position requires a CDL with P and S endorsements, a high school diploma or GED, and compliance with DOT and state requirements. This is a full-time, 171/10 month position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified or certifiable as a Texas School Bus Driver.
• Hold a CDL, class B minimum with a P & S Endorsement.
• If you do not hold CDL with P & S Endorsement, you must apply for the Driver Trainee position.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Must pass Annual State of Texas School Bus Driver Physicals.
• Must pass ALL Federal DOT Drug and Alcohol Test.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus on an assigned route in transporting children to and from school, in a safe, timely manner.
• Operate all district owned vehicles necessary to facilitate the educational program.
• Maintain, read and understand route descriptions and notify proper personnel of deviations or overcrowding.
• Exercise student management and report discipline problems per district procedures.
• Ensure timely attendance and maintain good work habits and vehicle care.
• Complete pre/post trip inspections and assist with evacuations and safety drills as required.
