Job summary

Baldwinsville Central School District is seeking a part-time school bus driver to transport students to and from school and district functions. You will ensure the safety of children on entry and during transit and adhere to state requirements.

Training is provided free to obtain a CDL, and applicants must be at least 21 with a clean license. Work hours are 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexibility for other schedules as available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean, valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
• Free comprehensive training provided to obtain CDL.

Job description

Overview

Operation of a school bus in transporting students to and from school and district functions. The employee is charged with the safety of the children upon entry to the vehicle and during their transport. The employee may be accompanied by a School Bus Attendant. It is the employee's responsibility to check the vehicle for safety prior to trips. A supervisor assigns bus routes and periodically evaluates the employee's driving skills and knowledge of State laws applicable to transporting students. Performs related work as required.

Training

Free comprehensive training is provided to obtain CDL and qualify for employment.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and possess a clean, valid driver's license. CDL preferred, but not required.

Schedule

Ideal candidates will be available to work 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, we will consider other schedules or if only available to work certain days of the week.

If you have letters of reference available at the time you submit the application, please upload the letters; otherwise you can provide them during an interview if selected or prior to the end of the training period.
