Job summary

Aiken County Public Schools seeks a Bus Driver/Substitute Bus Driver in Wagener, SC. The role supports student transportation under the Transportation department, reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, with non-exempt status and a 180-day term.

Position requires CDL, School Bus Driver Certificate, and DOT physical, plus clean driving record and ability to pass drug screenings. Starting date is immediate and salary is posted on the district site.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, valid driver’s license and 12 months licensed driving experience with Class D/E/F/G.
• No more than four points on driving record and no suspensions in the past year.
• Must obtain CDL and School Bus Driver Certificate and a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus safely and professionally on assigned routes.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain student seating charts and update contact information.
• Communicate with students, parents, and staff as needed.
• Submit reports to the Transportation Supervisor.
• Follow district and state regulations and participate in safety meetings.
