First Student Zachary, LA is hiring part-time School Bus Drivers to start mornings and return students after school. You’ll transport students safely, assist with seats and mobility aids, and ensure a clean, orderly bus while following safety rules.

No previous experience required; we provide expert training and guidance. The role offers a flexible AM/PM schedule, paid holidays, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k), and opportunities for career advancement across locations.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.

Now Hiring Part-Time School Bus Drivers for Zachary Community Schools - Zachary, LA

As a Part Time School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. You will start students' days with morning pickup before school and transport them safely back home in the afternoon. Additional hours for field trips and special event transportation may be available.

No experience is necessary to become a school bus driver! We are here to help you succeed with expert training and guidance to help you become a safe and professional First Student school bus driver.

School Bus Driver benefits:

• Hourly Rate : $21.05 per hour
• Training Hourly Rate: $15.00 per hour; Behind the wheel training
• Guaranteed Minimum Hours: earn 2.75 hours per shift worked. If you work both AM and PM for a full week then you will earn 27.5 hours!
• Part-time, flexible schedule: Split shifts (AM/PM routes), weekdays only; No nights, weekends, holidays, or summers required.
• Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training provided!
• Commercial Learners Permit Bonus*** - $200.00 Bonus - if the CLP is presented within14 daysof completing the Virtual CLP class.
