Job summary

WE Transport Inc. in Westchester County is hiring school bus and van drivers with flexible split shifts and guaranteed 20 hours per week. CDL training is provided after obtaining a permit, helping you achieve endorsements for buses or vans.

Starting pay rates vary by vehicle: SUV drivers $21.21/hr, van drivers $24.40/hr, and bus drivers $26.52/hr with P and S endorsements. Benefits include paid time off, 401(k) with match, and life insurance, plus optional medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years old with at least 1 year of driving experience.
• NYSD CDL Class A or B with P & S endorsements for buses, or Class C with P & S endorsements for vans (or willingness to obtain through our free training).
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
• Non-CDL drivers must hold a valid driver’s license with CDL B Permit with P & S Endorsement to complete CDL training.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus or van to transport students to and from school safely and on time.
• Monitor traffic, road conditions, and student behavior to ensure a safe ride.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local traffic laws, as well as district requirements and standards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues.
• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle when necessary.
