School Bus Driver

Work Year/Hours: School Calendar/Hours Vary

Start date: Immediately

Salary: $21.46 to $22.90 in three steps (+ $2.50 per hour after the completion of the 3 endorsements - CDLB, P, and S endorsements) $23.96 to $25.40 in three steps

Probationary Period – 60 Working Days

A criminal record check, drivers record check, physical examination, and drug and alcohol test are required for all new bus drivers.

A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-BPS) is required, or applicant must be able to successfully complete the following tests:

• Passenger Endorsement Test
• Air Brake Test
• Skills Test which includes vehicle inspection, Basic Control Skills and On the Road Skills
• Beginning Bus Driver Course
• Advanced Bus Driver Course
• Any other test that may be required in the future from the federal government.
