Job summary

Beacon Mobility in Pennsylvania is seeking a Bus Aide to assist students boarding the bus, remain safe during transit, and help the Driver focus on driving.

You will sit at back, assist with loading/unloading, communicate with school staff and caregivers, secure safety restraints, and participate in trainings; schedule Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM with split shifts, 6-8 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and required clearances per school districts.
• High school diploma or equivalent (Required).

Responsibilities

• Aides are required to sit in the back of the vehicle with students.
• Load and unload students as required.
• Be knowledgeable and attentive to the unique needs of the students.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and caregivers.
• Install and secure students in all approved child safety restraints.
• Learn the route to direct a substitute driver if needed.
• Attend all mandatory trainings.
• Address child safety and behavioral concerns while the vehicle is in motion.
