Job summary

Midtown Athletic Club in Rochester, NY is seeking School Break Camp Counselors to lead kids in movement, games and sports during Winter Break (Feb. 15–19, 2027) and Spring Break (Mar. 22–26, 2027), Monday–Friday 8:30am–4:30pm, with potential to continue into Summer.

You’ll inspire young members, be a positive role model, communicate with parents, ensure safety, and organize engaging youth activities. Experience with youth programs and lifeguard or water-safety certification are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience as a teacher, camp counselor or day care worker.
• Have an area of youth programming expertise (athletic, creative, or academic).
• Possess outstanding verbal communication skills with children and adults.
• Have high energy levels and can keep children moving in a variety of activities.
• Have patience and are outgoing and friendly.
• Possess current certification in lifeguarding and/or water safety instruction.
• Are highly organized, energetic, and can multi task.

Midtown is looking for a School Break Camp Counselor to add to our world-class team. Specifically looking for candidates to work Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm for both Winter Break- Feb. 15-19, 2027 and Spring Break- March 22-26, 2027.With the possibility of staying on as a Midtown Summer Camp Counselor for the Summer season. Counselor pay rate is $16.50/Hour.

The Position

As an integral part of the member services team, our Camp Counselors inspire young members through movement, community, and personal attention. They encourage active, social, and healthier lives by:

• Leading children through organized events, activities and sports

• Communicating with parents before and after sessions
