Job summary

Covelo Group in Grass Valley, CA is hiring a School Behavior Technician to support students with behavioral, academic, and social goals in a school setting. The role offers up to $26/hr and a Monday–Friday schedule, with weekly pay and opportunities to gain hands-on experience in ABA, education, or behavioral health.

You may work 1:1 with a student or assist multiple students in a classroom, depending on assignment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Prior ABA, behavioral health, childcare, or school-based experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to remain calm and follow behavior-support procedures during challenging situations.
• Reliable transportation to assigned school sites.
• Ability to meet assignment-specific physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support students with behavioral, academic, and social goals.
• Implement strategies outlined in IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior support plans.
• Use positive reinforcement and other approved behavior-support techniques.
• Provide 1:1, small-group, or classroom-based assistance.
• Help students transition between activities and classroom settings.
• Monitor behavior and collect data on student progress.
• Assist BCBAs and school staff with observations and assessments.
• Support students during classroom and non-classroom activities.
• Maintain accurate service logs and documentation.
• Assist with personal care when required, including toileting, diapering, and hygiene.
• Help maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
